EOW chargesheets four in Airport job scam | KNO

Srinagar, Jul 22 (KNO): The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) Kashmir on Wednesday filed a charge-sheet against four accused for their alleged involvement in an airport job scam in which several job aspirants were duped on the false promise of securing employment at Srinagar Airport. In a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), a spokesperson said the Economic Offences Wing (EOW), Kashmir, of the Crime Branch J&K filed the charge-sheet before the Court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Srinagar, in connection with FIR No. 36/2018 registered under Sections 420 and 120-B RPC read with Section 66(D) of the Information Technology Act. The spokesperson said the accused have been identified as Mohit Sharma alias Bhardwaj, son of Subash Chand Sharma, a resident of 96-B, Baraula, Sector-49, near Government Primary School, Noida, Uttar Pradesh; Mukesh Kumar, son of Harday Ram, a resident of P/S Sadar Thana Road, Bara Tooti, New Delhi; Mehmood Khan, son of Wakeel Khan, a resident of H. No. 95, Hadoo Mohalla, H-Block, Madanpur Khadar, Sarita Vihar, New Delhi; and Ram Lakhan, son of Ram Milan, a resident of H. No. 2862/I-B, Singharas Nash, Karim Paharang, Tehsil Dumariyaganj, New Delhi. “The case pertains to complaints received from several districts of the Kashmir Valley alleging that the accused duped unsuspecting job seekers of lakhs of rupees on the false promise of securing employment in the Airports Authority of India. Following a thorough investigation, the allegations were established and the case has been charge-sheeted in the court of law,” the spokesperson said. The spokesperson said the Crime Branch has advised the public to remain vigilant against such economic frauds and report any suspicious activities to the SSP, EOW Kashmir.
